Bad company /A Story of a Boy who had fallen into a bad company

Once there was a rich man. He had a son. He was a good boy. Unfortunately he fell into the company of bad boys. His father advised him to give up the company of bad boys. The boy said, “You need not worry about me. These friends cannot spoil me. On the contrary, I will make them good boys.”

His father thought of a plan to reform him. He went to market and bought some good apples. He bought a rotten apple also. He asked his son to put the good apples in the cupboard. Then he asked him to put the rotten apple also among them.

Next day he asked his son to bring all the apples. The boy found that all the apples had gone bad. His father advised him,” One rotten apple has spoiled all the good ones. Bad boys are like rotten apples. They will spoil you.” The boy learnt a lesson and gave up the company of bad boys.

(10.5.1) A Speech on 'Teachers' Day'

Speech on Teachers' Day

Speech on Teachers' Day

On this auspicious occasion of Teachers' Day, I express my good wishes to all of you.

This auspicious day, dedicated to teachers, is the birthday of the former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. We celebrate this day as Teachers' Day to honor teachers.

'Acharya Devo Bhava', this saying has been the basis of the Guru-Shishya tradition in India since ancient times. The role of a teacher is very important in the life of the students. He leads his students from darkness to light. He fills their life with self-confidence, self-esteem and a sense of understanding their own worth.

Teachers are social engineers. They create future doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists and useful workers for the society.

Students are the future of the nation. They play the role of capable and efficient citizens by getting proper guidance from their teachers. They take forward the social, cultural and economic activities of the nation and contribute to the building of the nation.

History is witness - if Dronacharya were not there, Arjun would not have been so proficient in archery. If Ramakrishna had not been there, Vivekananda would not have been there. Who does not know the role of Chanakya in making Chandragupta Maurya the emperor?

The teachers have a direct or indirect impact on the life of the students. Therefore, teachers should leave such an impression through their work, conduct and behavior that it has a constructive and positive impact on their students and they keep remembering their teachers with respect.

On this auspicious occasion of Teachers' Day, I bow down to all the teachers and with these words I conclude my speech.

Thank you.
