Use of ‘Since’ and ‘For’
सभी Perfect Continuous Tense के वाक्यों में समय सूचक शब्द के साथ ‘से’ के
अंग्रेजी ‘since अथवा for’ बनती है.
Since का प्रयोग -
यदि निश्चित समय (point of time) दिया हुआ हो तो ‘से’ की अंग्रेजी ‘since’ बनती
है. जैसे –
निश्चित समय के साथ – दो बजे से since 2 o’clock, प्रातः 5 बजे से since 5 a.
m.
दिन के नाम से पहले – सोमवार से since Monday, रविवार से since Sunday.
दिन के भाग के नाम से पहले – प्रातःकाल से – since morning, शाम से - since evening,
दोपहर से - since noon, पिछली रात्रि से – since last night, कल से – since
yesterday.
महीनों के नाम से पहले – मार्च से - since March, जून से - since June
वर्ष के नाम से पहले – 1947 से – since 1947
एक निश्चित समय के पहले – जन्म से – since birth, बचपन से – since childhood
For का प्रयोग
यदि period of time (समय की अवधि ) दी हुई हो तो ‘से’ की अंग्रेजी ‘for’ बनती
है. जैसे –
for two days, for three hours, for three months, for two years, for a long
time, for many days, for five centuries etc.
